April 13, 1941 – May 11, 2019

Larry Matthew Roberts, 78 years young, was born April 13, 1941, on Easter Sunday, in Cheyenne, WY to Matthew C. and Leona (Noni) Canfield Roberts.  He lived in Cheyenne until he graduated from the University of Wyoming (UW), with a Bachelor’s degree in business.  Growing up he worked for his Grandfather on the Canfield Ranch during the summers and worked for his Dad at Trailways Bus Line on weekends while in college.

Upon his graduation for UW, he went to work for the Internal Revenue Service as a Revenue Officer.  While working for the IRS, he met the love of his life, Geraldine Jacquelyn.  They were married in happiness for 39 years.  He was a very happy and loving husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather.

Larry also worked in Yellowstone Park for Hamilton Stores, Farmers CO-OP, NSI Academy Inc and as a Playground and Lunch Room monitor for Immanuel Lutheran Grammar School.

He loved fishing, woodworking, camping and his dog Maggie.  His favorite places were the Firehole River in Yellowstone National Park and Sibley Lake in the Big Horn Mountains.

Larry was preceded to Heaven by his grandparents, Mom and Dad, his precious 5-year-old granddaughter, Katherine Marie Herman and special nephew, Donald Schreiber.

Larry is survived by his loving wife, Geraldine; children, Jeanan Jacquelyn (Hans) Herman and their children, Juliana, Christina and Harrison; John (Glen) Berberick and his children, Rachael, Cristen, Nathan and Michael; his great grandchildren Tyler, Tierra, Skyler, Tiegan, special cousins; Rita and Linda, many close cousins and his best friend Ted Lapis.

If you asked Larry how he was, he’d say: “NEVER BETTER” (now he is).

Funeral services will be held at 1:00 pm on Thursday, June 6, 2019, at Immanuel Lutheran Church with Pastor Paul Cain officiating.

Online condolences may be written at www.Championfh.com Champion Funeral Home has been entrusted with local arrangements.
