WYO to offer The Met Live in HD

SHERIDAN — The WYO Performing Arts and Education Center will offer a showing of The Met Live in HD on Saturday.

Guiseppe Verdi’s “La Traviata” will begin at 10:55 a.m. The opera tells the story of a tragic heroine, her hapless lover and his father, Germont, who destroys their love.

Tickets for the show cost $21 for adults and $11 for students. All tickets are available online at wyotheater.com, at the WYO box office or by phone at 307-672-9084.

Frontier Asset Management providing gift wrapping  

SHERIDAN — Frontier Asset Management will host a gift-wrapping fundraiser Friday and Saturday to benefit local Christmas food baskets. Whether individual gifts or for your company, you may drop off the gift to pick up at a later date or stop in during open hours for same-day wrapping.

Drop off dates are Dec. 7, 14 and 21. Open door is available from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Dec. 15 and Dec. 22. The cost is $2 per package. All proceeds will be donated to Grace Anglican Church for their Christmas food baskets.

Ucross to host annual holiday celebration

SHERIDAN — Ucross Foundation will host its annual Christmas celebration Saturday from 4-6 p.m. This year, in memory of founder Raymond Plank, the event will include an interdenominational prayer led by Bob Wyatt, music by Dave Munsick and festive treats from Bonafide Foods.

Plus, the celebration will include a Christmas story reading by Craig Johnson, Christmas carols, refreshments and crafts for children, lighting of the trees in the park at Ucross and fireworks.

Organizers ask that attendees bring a canned or nonperishable food item, which will be distributed to families in need.
