SHERIDAN — Sheridan High School standout Parker Christensen won the 2019 Wyoming Gatorade Player of the Year award Thursday. He helped guide the Broncs to nine wins this season and their fourth consecutive state title game appearance.

Christensen played running back and linebacker for Sheridan while also helping out on special teams. He rushed for 1,120 yards on 132 carries with 19 touchdowns. Christensen recorded 85 tackles and also returned two kickoffs for touchdowns.

Christensen is committed to play football for the University of Wyoming next fall. In the meantime, he’ll look to play his part on the basketball team this winter.
