Eagles to offer annual  pie, dessert auction

SHERIDAN — Big Horn Mountain Eagles #4169 Auxiliary will host its annual pie and dessert auction Friday.

The event will take place from 6-8 p.m., allowing attendees to stock up on all of their Thanksgiving treats.

TRVCC organizing family carnival

DAYTON — The Tongue River Valley Community Center will host its annual carnival Friday from 5-8 p.m.

The festival will include games, raffles, Bingo, a cake walk and more.

The event will take place at the facility located at 1100 Main St. in Dayton.

 

CVC to facilitate conversations about housing

SHERIDAN — The Center for a Vital Community has organized two dates for community conversations around the issue of housing.

Having tough conversations that are positive and constructive is a goal of the CVC. The organization wants civility to be the default in the community when it comes to difficult topics.

The CVC has invited area residents to join facilitators for Community Conversations to discuss affordable housing in Sheridan County. Civility will reign and stories and experiences will be welcome.

Two different sessions will be offered: one Thursday from 2-5 p.m. and one Saturday from 9 a.m. to noon. Both sessions will take place at the Sheridan Memorial Hospital downtown community room, located at 61 S. Gould St.

 

SAGE to host reception for Lawson show Thursday

SHERIDAN — SAGE Community Arts will host an exhibit of T. Allen Lawson’s work through Jan. 2.

The show, titled “Hometown,” will feature 35 small-scale paintings depicting Sheridan, Lawson’s hometown.

An artist talk will take place at the WYO Performing Arts and Education Center at 5:30 p.m. Thursday. An opening reception is planned for 6:30-8:30 p.m. at SAGE following the talk.

Lawson was born in Sheridan in 1963. He was educated in Sheridan public schools, and for the first 17 years of his life, was raised with the small-town perspective of a Sheridan native.

The Hub offer Online Care Fair 

SHERIDAN — The Hub on Smith will continue its recognition of National Caregiver Month by acting as a host for AARP’s Online Care Fair.

Anyone who would like to attend to take part in the presentation is welcome. The event will take place Thursday from 3-6 p.m. in The Hub’s conference room.

The Hub started the month by hosting a Caregiver Conference on Nov. 2.
