SHERIDAN — The Sheridan College men’s rodeo team placed third at the Laramie County Community College Rodeo last weekend. The Generals tallied 500 points, while Gillette College won the event, scoring 595 points. The Lady Generals collected 40 points to finish sixth.
The result keeps the Generals in second in the Central Rocky Mountain Region behind the University of Wyoming. The Cowboys have accumulated 2,700 points, and Sheridan has 2,165.
Lane Schuelke won saddle bronc in Cheyenne, scoring 151 points and giving him commanding 135-point lead within the region.
Coby Johnson gave the Generals another winner, topping the field in bull riding after recording a score of 158. He remains atop the Central Rocky Mountain Region, as well, with a 110-point cushion between him and second place.
Cole Reiner and Chance Ames placed fourth and fifth in bareback over the weekend, finishing with 149 and 141 points, respectively. Reiner sits in second in the region while Ames holds onto the fourth spot.
Madeline Hall paced the Lady Generals over the weekend, taking fourth in barrel racing, clocking in at 32.81 seconds in Cheyenne.
