SHERIDAN — The Sheridan College men’s rodeo team took third at the Lamar Community College Rodeo over the weekend. The finish positions the Generals in second place of the Central Rocky Mountain Region with 1,665 points. SC trails the University of Wyoming, which boasts 2,215 points.
Cole Reiner won his second rodeo of the fall season, topping the field in bareback with 156 points, and teammate Chance Ames placed third with 149 points.
Trevor Clark won the long round to vault up and finish third in saddle bronc with 143 points.
Garrett Duncan (header) and Colby Heizel (heeler) also took third in team roping, recording a time of 16.4 seconds.
Coby Johnson and Kenneth Thomson placed fourth and sixth, respectively, in bull riding, tallying 76 and 36 points.
Kristen Vander Voort and Cricket Cunningham paced the Lady Generals, who placed seventh as a team. Vander Voort clocked in at 36.4 seconds in barrel racing to place fourth, and Cunningham also finished fourth in breakaway roping with a time of 6.6 seconds.
Sheridan College travels to Cheyenne for the Laramie County Community College Rodeo this weekend.
