Lady Broncs take down Gillette schools
SHERIDAN — The Sheridan High School swimming and diving team competed in a tri-meet against Campbell County and Thunder Basin Saturday in Gillette. The Lady Broncs edged the Lady Camels 93-88 and toppled the Lady Bolts 103-74.
Sheridan’s 200-medley and 400-freestyle relay teams set the pace. The 200-medley relay, comprised of Jadyn Mullikin, Zoe Robison, Taylor Baldacci and Piper Carroll, started the meet off with a victory, clocking in at one minute and 52.84 seconds. Those same four closed the meet with a dominating win in the 400-freestyle relay, recording a time of 3:51.58, more than six seconds faster than the second-place team.
Robison and Baldacci finished one-two in the 50-meter freestyle with times of 26.06 and 26.29, respectively. Carroll won the 100-yard freestyle, logging a time of 54.78, and Mullikin swam a 1:01.03 to claim first in the 100-yard backstroke.
The Lady Broncs travel south for the Laramie Pre-Invite Friday.
Sheridan wins one at Border War
SHERIDAN — The Sheridan High School volleyball team battled in the WY-MT Border War in Billings Saturday. The Lady Broncs went 1-2, pushing its record to 8-18 overall.
Sheridan sandwiched a win over Billings Skyview (25-14, 25-23) in between losses to Billings Senior (25-17, 25-7) and Billings West (25-18, 25-18).
The Lady Broncs delve back into conference play, where they sit at 1-2, Tuesday at Natrona County.
Lady Panthers host tournament
CLEARMONT — The Arvada-Clearmont High School volleyball team hosted the AC Invitational in Buffalo Saturday. The Lady Panthers contended in the gold bracket and finished with a 2-1 record, which pushed their overall record to 8-9.
AC eked past Meeteetse 2-1 (25-22, 22-25, 15-13) and Dubois 2-1 (25-22, 16-25, 15-12) before dropping a two-one decision to Farson-Eden 2-1 (25-22, 19-25, 15-10).
The Lady Panthers get back into conference play, where they hold a 3-2 record, Friday at Midwest.
