SHERIDAN — Sheridan resident Teresa Araas received recognition as 2018 Adjunct Faculty of the Year from Rocky Mountain University of Health Professions.

Araas teaches doctoral courses in health promotion and wellness and holds an adjunct research fellowship at the university located in Provo, Utah.

The award recognizes faculty for outstanding teaching. It honors an adjunct faculty member who has shown evidence of inspiring, promoting and sustaining intellectual development of students using innovate teaching techniques and approaches based upon the best evidence while demonstrating sensitivity and respect for student inquiry, professional and personal development.

Araas was nominated for the award by Dr. Cherie Pettitt, associate professor and director of the health promotion and wellness track of the doctorate of health science at the university.
