SHERIDAN — Runners will converge on Sheridan and the Bighorn Mountains next week for the Bighorn Mountain Wild and Scenic Trail Run.

The festivities will begin Tuesday with a happy hour from 5-8 p.m. at Luminous Brewhouse.

The evening will also include the showing of a documentary on trail running at 6 p.m.

On Wednesday, athlete Jennifer Pharr Davis will participate in a happy hour on the patio of the Steamboat Trading Post, located at 254 U.S. Highway 14, Suite B, in Ranchester. The event will take place from 5-8 p.m.

On Thursday, the 100-mile runners will drop their bags at the old Farmers Co-Op building at 117 N. Scott St. Registration for all races will begin at noon Thursday and a pasta social for the 100-mile runners will take place at Ole’s Pizza and Spaghetti House from 4-8 p.m.

A welcome bash for all runners will take place Thursday from 5-8 p.m. at the Black Tooth Brewing Company at 312 Broadway St. The evening will include local food trucks and live music.

On Friday from 7-8 a.m., pre-race yoga will be offered in Scott Bicentennial Park. Then, the 100-milers will hit the trail at 10 a.m.

Runners in the 18-mile, 32-mile and 52-mile races can pick up packets and register from noon to 6 p.m. at Black Tooth Brewing Company on Friday. The pasta social for those runners will take place Friday from 4-8 p.m. at Ole’s along with another welcome bash from 5-8 p.m. at Black Tooth Brewing Company.

On Friday night at dusk, the movie “The Hard Way” will be shown in Scott Park in Dayton.

Finally, at 5 a.m. Saturday the 52-mile race will begin, followed by the 32-mile and 18-mile races at 8 a.m.

A post-race picnic will take place in the park in Dayton from noon to 8 p.m. Saturday.
