SHERIDAN — The Sheridan County School District 1 board of trustees approved Michael McGuire’s resignation as Big Horn High School girls basketball head coach during Tuesday evening’s board meeting. McGuire said he wanted to spend more time with his wife and two young children.

McGuire finished 54-21 during three seasons on the sidelines and led the Lady Rams to the 2017 2A state championship with a 24-2 record. The team finished 13-12 this past season and lost in the regional finals.

McGuire will continue to teach health and physical education at Big Horn Elementary School and coach BHHS football, where he has led the Rams to two state championships and two runner-up finishes in six seasons.
