SHERIDAN — Bjarne D. Kristiansen will deliver a lecture entitled “The Agricultural Revolution: Changing Humanity Forever” as part of the Sheridan College Faculty Lecture Series March 22.

The 7 p.m. lecture will take place in the Whitney Academic Center at SC in room W153. Refreshments will follow the lecture, which is free and open to the public.

Kristiansen was born in Norway and immigrated to the U.S. when he was 4 years old. He is now an adjunct instructor at Sheridan College and works for the Wyoming Department of Environmental Quality.

During the close of the last glacial period, Middle Eastern people began a process that exists to this day — planting and harvesting cereal grains for sustaining life on an ongoing basis.

The lecture will examine those early days, the times of feast and the times of famine, the times of abundance and the times of death and the times we were changed irrevocably on our road to what we experience daily in our quest for survival in the 21st century.
