SHERIDAN — Real Resistance Wyoming will screen the documentary “Do Not Resist” at the inner circle of the Sheridan County Fulmer Public Library on Saturday from 1-3 p.m.

The event is free and open to the public.

“Do Not Resist” is the work of first-time filmmaker Craig Atkinson, the son of a 29-year Michigan police veteran. It won the Best Documentary Award at the Tribeca Film Festival in 2016. The documentary centers on the federal 1033 program, which supplies domestic law enforcement agencies with military-grade equipment at no cost.

“Do Not Resist” asks questions about how this influx of military equipment is affecting community policing and whether municipalities fully understand the implications of accepting it. The screening will be followed by a short discussion of the film. Sheridan County Sheriff Allen Thompson will speak and answer questions following the screening.

The Sheridan County Fulmer Public Library is located at 335 W. Alger St.
