SHERIDAN — The Faculty Lecture Series at Sheridan College will continue Nov. 16 with the presentation, “The Natural Resource Curse? Wyoming’s Path to a Third World Economy.”

The lecture will begin at 7 p.m. in room W153 of the Whitney Academic Center with refreshments to follow.

Dr. Doug McGee will explore how a nation’s resource wealth shapes its economic development. The discussion will begin with a comparison of the Wyoming economy to resource rich states in the developing world. 

McGee is a Wyoming native and graduate of the University of Wyoming. He has been teaching at Gillette College since 2013 and has received The National Society of Leadership and Success award for Excellence in Teaching and the Outstanding Faculty Member of the Year, 2016-2017 award. The Whitney Center for the Arts at Sheridan College is located at 3059 Coffeen Ave.
