SHERIDAN — The Wyoming State Society Daughters of the American Revolution recently delivered 23 Wyoming state flags and a proclamation to France, to be read and the flags presented at the Somme American Cemetery during the recent Franco- American Alliance DAR Tour.

The proclamation was signed by Wyoming DAR members and was in recognition of the 100-year anniversary of World War I, and was also to thank and honor all American World War I soldiers for their sacrifice. The 23 flags represented each of Wyoming’s 23 counties.

The flags were placed at the grave of DAR member Helen Fairchild’s grave, who served as a Red Cross nurse in France during World War I and died there after an illness.
