SHERIDAN — Oct. 31 has been recognized as the 500th anniversary of the Reformation, a movement that gave rise to the protestant traditions and shaped the Roman Catholic Church as well.

The Sheridan Ministerial Association will host a Reformation Hymn Sing at First Congregational Church on Sunday at 2 p.m. to mark the anniversary.

St. Augustine famously said that “whoever sings, prays twice,” and this ecumenical commemoration will give a chance to sing and pray together.

Organist Gary Bowers will lead attendees in hymns from the Catholic, Calvinist, Lutheran and Wesleyan traditions. All are welcome.

First Congregational Church is located at 100 W. Works St.
