SHERIDAN — October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month and the Wyoming Breast Cancer Initiative has put together events around the state to raise awareness and raise funds for Wyoming breast cancer programs.

Volunteers with WBCI have organized a statewide Paint Wyoming Pink Restaurant Week event, Oct. 8-14.

Restaurants will donate a portion of their proceeds from their evening event to WBCI. Funds are granted to breast cancer programs across the state.

“There has been an incredible amount of interest from local restaurants to participate,” said Laurie Heath, founder and president of the WBCI advisory team.

“We are excited to be able to partner with these businesses and give folks around the state an opportunity to support both the local community and breast cancer programs.”

In Sheridan, Wyoming Rib & Chop will participate Oct. 10.

The restaurant will donated 10 percent of sales from the entire day. In addition, the restaurant will donate $2 for every Magic Margarita purchased during the month of October.

The restaurant is located at 847 N. Main St. and is open from 11 a.m. to 10 p.m.
