SHERIDAN — Dementia Friendly Wyoming is launching the business educational campaign with two general presentations. This is an opportunity for employees of Sheridan’s smaller businesses to join with others for a one-hour session on the following dates and times.

Both sessions will take place in the Sheridan County Chamber of Commerce conference room. Businesses will need to RSVP to 461-7134 as there is a maximum capacity of 20.

The trainings will take place:

• Wednesday from 8:30-9:30 a.m.

• Thursday from 5-6 p.m.

Businesses may also schedule a presentation specifically for their employees at a time and place that is convenient for them.

One in two households will be affected with dementia in the next 10 years. Creating a supportive environment where those living with dementia and their care partners are respected and welcomed is good business practice. A business that is “dementia friendly” becomes a stakeholder in the Sheridan community.

Dementia Friendly Wyoming is a member of the national initiative Dementia Friendly America and is the Wyoming licensee for Dementia Friends USA. Dementia Friends is the biggest ever initiative to change people’s perceptions of dementia. It aims to transform the way people think, talk and act about people living with dementia, moving the message from despair to hope.

RSVP for a training by calling 461-7134 or emailing kwallick@dfwsheridan.org.
