SHERIDAN — This week’s forecast predicts vast improvements from last week’s snow, a positive sign for Sheridan High School athletics.
After a majority of last week’s sporting events were canceled or postponed, the school announced the rescheduled events for this week. It will be a busy week as the teams try to fill in the missed games by week’s end, the conclusion of the regular seasons.
The SHS girls soccer team will travel to Casper Monday for a match against Cheyenne South High School. That match, which was originally scheduled for April 21, will be played at Kelly Walsh High School at 4 p.m. It will be a varsity-only match.
The Sheridan boys soccer team had both of its weekend matches canceled due to poor weather in Cheyenne. The Broncs will travel to Cheyenne Thursday to play Cheyenne East at 7 p.m. and will take on Cheyenne Central Friday at 5 p.m.
Because of the rescheduled trips to Cheyenne, the originally scheduled Friday match with Gillette has been bumped to Tuesday. The Broncs will travel to Gillette for that 6 p.m. match, making Friday’s contest with Central the final regular season game.
Last week’s Wyoming Track Classic, which features the state’s top invited track and field athletes, was moved to Tuesday at 4 p.m. at Kelly Walsh High School.
The golf and tennis matches that were canceled over the weekend have not been rescheduled.
