East piles it on in 6-0 win over Sheridan

SHERIDAN — The Sheridan Lady Broncs held 4A East leader Cheyenne East scoreless for 26 minutes Saturday. Sydney Miller struck first for the Lady Thunderbirds, and, from there, the wheels fell off for the visiting Lady Broncs soccer team.

East put the pedal down after Miller’s goal, and the Lady T-birds went on to win 6-0.

Miller scored another goal five minutes after her first and completed the hat trick shortly after a Jessie Erickson goal made it 3-0. Erickson scored again to give East a 5-0 halftime lead.

East’s Ellie Dahill rounded out the day with a goal in the 59th minute.

The loss dropped Sheridan to 3-5 (1-3 in 4A East).

The Lady Broncs are tied for fourth in the conference standings with Cheyenne Central, but the Lady Indians have the tiebreaker after beating Sheridan on Friday night.

The Lady Broncs will wrap up the first half of conference play by hosting Gillette Thursday at Homer Scott Field.

Coe-Kirkham second, Lady Broncs win in Buffalo

SHERIDAN — Kirby Coe-Kirkham was the leader in the clubhouse and his score was red, but it didn’t last as long as the Sheridan junior would have hoped. His 69 was good for second as Riverton’s Easton Paxton brought home a 63 to win the golf tournament over the weekend in Buffalo.

Sheridan’s Drew Mavrakis shot a personal-best 74 to finish third.

Riverton shot a 306 to finish atop the team standings. Gillette (332) was second, and Sheridan (338) was third. Douglas (350) and Buffalo (445) rounded out the top five.

The Sheridan girls filled the leaderboard to win the tournament. The Lady Broncs shot a 273 as a team, beating Gillette (291).

Molly Butler shot a 90 to finish first in the individual standings. Victoria Owings (91) tied for second with Worland’s Katelin Scherman. Skyler Wallace (92) was fourth, and Kayla Allen (94) was fifth.
