Housed in the former horse stables for a founding family in Sheridan, the Carriage House Theater is an intimate venue for local musical and theatrical events.

The theater is the primary home of the Sheridan Civic Theater Guild, which has brought homegrown entertainment to the community since 1956. It also hosts live music, productions from area schools and more.

“A lot of people spend a lot of time for the performing arts in this community,” Civic Theater Guild board member and regular performer Matt Davis said. “It’s all a volunteer workforce, from the directors, to the cast members, to the people who are on boards. It’s something that people are really passionate about, and I think that is probably the bottom line of why it happens.”

The Carriage House Theater is situated on the Trail End State Historic Site that also houses the Kendrick Mansion. The Kendrick family was integral to the formation and growth of Sheridan.
