SHERIDAN — Voters in two more precincts will head to the fairgrounds to cast their ballots this election season.

At the Sheridan County Board of County Commissioners meeting Tuesday morning, commissioners approved moving the balloting for precincts 2-2 and 2-4 from the Sheridan Senior Center to the Sheridan County Fairgrounds.

Eda Schunk Thompson, county clerk and recorder, said construction at the senior center brought about the change that will affect more than 900 people.

Information will be mailed to those affected by the change in the coming weeks.

• Commissioners approved Temporary Assistance for Needy Family grants for three different local organizations.

Representatives from Greater Wyoming Big Brothers, Big Sisters, Eagle Ridge Rehabilitation Center and Child Advocacy Services of the Bighorns all made their case to the commissioners Tuesday morning.

Their requests totaled around $80,000, but commissioners and administration said that amount was simply not available. Funding levels for these grants at the county level total in the area of $30,000, Sheridan County Administrative Director Renee Obermueller.

As a compromise, commissioners voted unanimously to allot $15,000 to CASBH and $7,500 each to both Big Brothers, Big Sisters and Eagle Ridge Rehabilitation Center.
