SHERIDAN — Children, Horses and Adults in PartnerShip Equine Assisted Therapy is having a breeding auction fundraiser.

The fundraiser began Monday and will continue through January. The purpose of the fundraiser is to provide funding for CHAPS participant scholarships.

According to a press release from the local nonprofit, in 2015, 74 percent of CHAPS clients could not have participated without scholarship funding. The CHAPS organization is committed to improving the lives of people with emotional, mental and physical challenges. Since 2003, the staff at CHAPS has used horses to help participants achieve their individual therapeutic goals.

The auction features 17 stallions, ranging from cutting, reining and roping to racing and jumper horses. The bidding will take place on the CHAPS Facebook page. Bids are entered simply by adding your bid amount as a comment under the photo of the stallion you choose.  The Facebook stallion auction will continue through Feb. 1.

Bidding will start at 25 percent of the breeding fee. To see the featured stallions and bid, see or visit the CHAPS Facebook page.
