SHERIDAN — The theater troupe at the Senior Center has been busy rehearsing for its next production, a radio comedy with music called “Chance Hastings — Range Detective in the Case of Rustler’s Roost.”

The play is written in the style of theater during the heyday of radio when families would gather after dinner to listen to “Little Orphan Annie,” “The Lone Ranger” or “Fibber McGee and Mollie.”

Local game warden Bruce Scigliano and his writing partner George Krawczyk are the authors of this fast-paced comedy.

A total of 15 members of the Senior Center’s Young at Heart Players share several different roles as they bring the Chance Hastings adventure to life. The show includes several lively commercials sung by the actors, and the story is complete with a hilarious array of sound effects, courtesy of Helen and Peggy Campbell.

The radio play will have three performances — Thursday, Friday and Saturday — all at 1:30 p.m. in the dining room of the Senior Center. There will be a $2 charge per person at the door to help cover the expenses of the productions. The Sheridan Senior Center is located at 211 Smith St.
