SHERIDAN — Mary and Wally Johnson of Sheridan celebrated 50 years of marriage recently.

The Johnsons were wed Sept. 13, 1965, at the Baptist Church in Sheridan.

He worked as a cowboy, a U.S. Navy helicopter mechanic, heavy equipment operator on road construction, as an oil field roustabout, Caterpillar mechanic, log truck mechanic and spent years in aviation maintenance. He retired in 2006.

She did office work for a number of years and spent 29 years as a cafeteria worker with Sheridan County School District 2. She retired in 2009.

The Johnsons have two sons: Bryan Johnson and his fiancee Katie Mills of Sheridan and Kevin (Karna) Johnson of Bozeman, Montana. The couple also has four grandchildren.

The Johnsons celebrated their anniversary with family.
