SHERIDAN — Sheridan Free School, an educational collective dedicated to the concepts of lifelong learning, democracy and community, has begun offering free classes in the month of September.

With no centralized leadership, the Free School is run by community members for community members at no cost.

Free School began last week with a non-fiction book group and will continue Wednesday with “Genealogy 1,” taught in the Inner Circle at Sheridan Fulmer Public Library at 7 p.m.

Upcoming classes include a fiction writing workshop, rock climbing, group book discussions and more. There is no need to pre-register for classes.

For more information and calendars of classes, see the Sheridan Free School Facebook page or email

The library is located at 335 W. Alger St.
