Third-grader Kaylee Chase sits on the gym floor dressed in her costume for a book reading event in celebration of International Literacy Day Tuesday at Highland Park Elementary School. Students came to class dressed as their favorite story book characters before assembling in the gymnasium for a reading of the book “Jake the Happy Trash Truck,” written by local authors Yvonne and Scott Osborne.
