SHERIDAN — The Sheridan College volleyball team couldn’t carry the momentum from a 4-0 weekend into their matchup with Rocky Mountain College Tuesday, a five-set loss for the Lady Generals (21-25, 16-25, 25-22, 26-24, 8-15).
Sheridan beat Rocky Mountain in three sets over the weekend at the Sheridan College Volleyball Tournament, but head coach Jennifer Stadler said it was virtually a completely different team Tuesday.
Only two girls that played over the weekend played Tuesday.
The Lady Generals got some help from Jace Kleffner, who played after missing some time with an ankle injury, but her time was limited. Suli Hifo is still out with an ankle injury of her own.
Tara Hall led Sheridan with 14 kills, 27 digs and an assisted block. Charity Sadang had 15 kills, seven digs and two assisted blocks, and Casey McInerney had 13 kills and two assisted blocks.
The Lady Generals will travel to Northeastern Junior College this weekend for four matches against four dangerous opponents.
“I hope to regroup and refocus and get four wins this weekend,” Stadler said. “But we face four tough teams, so we will have to play hard and together to come out with a few wins.”
Sheridan will play Otero, Trinidad State, Northeastern and North Platte at the two-day tournament that begins Friday.
