BIGHORN MOUNTAINS — Spaces are still available for the Red Grade Writers Workshop set for Sept. 9-13 at the Spear-O Wigwam Mountain Campus west of Sheridan in the Bighorn Mountains.

The workshop will be conducted by award-winning author Sarah Suzor and will consist of multiple creative writing exercises and prompts for participants in every genre: fiction, non-fiction, poetry and memoir.

Suzor will also bring in examples of other authors who wrote some of their most famous literary works in secluded areas of the country or who chose isolation as their muse — Walt Whitman, Henry David Thoreau and Emily Dickinson.

All lodging, meals and recreational activities are included in the $595 registration fee.

On Sept. 13, Suzor and the workshop participants will lead Spear-O’s monthly Mountain Lecture series that starts at 1 p.m. and is open to the public.

For additional information or to register for the workshop, contact Julie Davidson at jdavidson@sheridan.edu or at 674-6446 ext. 8350.
