SHERIDAN — The Downtown Sheridan Association is hosting another Blue Ribbon Steak Cook-off Aug. 20 during the Third Thursday Street Festival and registration to participate is due Thursday.
Judging will be based on sanitation and proper food handling, temperature of the meat, presentation and plating, taste and description of the entry.
The winner of the competition will receive $500 and the title of Blue Ribbon Cook-off winner, as well as judging the competition the following year.
All contestants will prepare two plates — one for the judges and another to be auctioned off to the crowd for a gourmet dinner served on Main Street including side dishes from Frackelton’s.
The fee to participate is $80. There is only room for 12 competitors.
