SHERIDAN — Two Sheridan College rodeo athletes made the short trip to Casper to compete in the College National Finals Rodeo this week.

Tioni Erickson and Tayte Clark qualified for the CNFR, which kicked off yesterday at the Casper Events Center.

Clark got off to a rough start in saddle bronc riding, recording a no score on his first go round. Erickson had slightly better luck in goat tying, scoring a 7.6 on her first go. Erickson was tied for 36th after the first day, nearly two seconds behind leader Macy Fuller’s (Central Arizona) 5.9-second round.

Both Clark and Erickson will be back in the arena today to try and move up the leaderboard. The CNFR will run through the end of the week.
