SHERIDAN — The Alcoholics Anonymous chapters that meet in Sheridan and Johnson counties have a new hotline phone number for anyone who may suspect he or she has a problem with drinking and is looking for a way to stop.

While the local hotline has been in existence for years, the number has changed.

The new AA hotline number is 674-2082.

The number is in operation 24 hours per day.

Through the hotline, a person can find information on local AA meetings, request that a recovering alcoholic contact them and more.

There are 38 Alcoholics Anonymous meetings per week in Sheridan and Johnson counties. A full list of meetings can be found online at under the “Sheridan” link.

Wyoming is referred to as Area 76 in the national AA organization.

Alcoholics Anonymous is a fellowship of men and women who share their experiences, strength and hope with each other in order to solve their common problem and help others to recover from alcoholism.
