Center Stage: Sheridan is fortunate to have Day Break facility

Home|News|Seniors|Center Stage: Sheridan is fortunate to have Day Break facility

To the angels of the Senior (Center) Day Break, I want to extend my sincere thank you for all the magnificent work that you do with our senior population, specifically my mom. The ladies and other team members at the Senior Day Break offer so many wonderful opportunities for social activities, laughs, games, lunch and celebrations of life. The love, care and concern that you show to my mom and the rest of the people who depend on you goes above and beyond our expectations. The community of Sheridan is very fortunate to have a facility like Day Break.

My mom is a beautiful, kind, devoted mother and wife.  She worked for years as a nurse for over 40 years tending to her patients in a gentle and compassionate manner while raising six children. She is one of those people that lights up a room with her quick wit and laughter. She has been married over 58 years and shares a home with my dad and her two cats.

Mom is now at a point in her life where she can no longer live independently and needs help with activities of daily living. My generous father has been caring for her loyally over those years, but there are times when he needs to tend to other things and she needs to have some daily social interaction outside the home.  Senior Day Break is a wonderful community resource to help us in this time of need.

It is so important to my family to have a place for my mom to spend some of her time in a caring and compassionate environment with the same high standards which she always aspired to in her own career.  Mom has settled into a routine where she uses the services offered by the Senior Day Break (program) several times a week and has made a lot of friends there.  She always comes home at the end of the time there with a smile on her face and a few fun stories.

Please know what a difference you make for all those around you. Never underestimate the impact you have on all those who you serve and their families.
