BIGHORN MOUNTAINS — Sheridan Area Search and Rescue continued the search for two missing snowmobilers this morning.

According to the Sheridan County Sheriff’s Office, SASR was called out around 11 p.m. Sunday to search for two guests of Bear Lodge who had not returned.

SCSO officials said the father and his teenage son had left the lodge at approximately 5 p.m. Sunday. They are from out of state and are unfamiliar with the area.

“Unfortunately their direction of travel from the parking lot is completely unknown, so there is a lot of ground to cover,” SCSO Lt. Mark Conrad said.

Johnson County and Big Horn County search and rescue crews are currently assisting in the search.

Conrad added that there are plans in the works to utilize aircraft in the search today if weather cooperates.
