SHERIDAN — Garry and Kay (Adams) King will celebrate 50 years of marriage today.

The Kings were married Jan. 23, 1965, at St. Peter and Paul Catholic Church in Pierre, South Dakota.

Garry King worked as an electrician for Ferding Electric in Pierre until the couple moved to Sheridan in 1972. In Sheridan, he worked at Mike’s Electric and then Decker Coal.

Kay King worked for the state of South Dakota until the move to Sheridan. In Sheridan, she worked at Babe’s Flowers, the Sheridan Senior Center and two elementary schools as a paraprofessional.

The couple started Majestic Electric in 1992, there they worked together until retiring in 2007.

The Kings have three children: Lisa (Shawn) O’Dell of Sheridan; Angela (Matt) Brennan of Laurel, Montana; and Kerry Kruse of Sheridan.

The Kings also have 11 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
