SHERIDAN — Robert and Lyla Stout will celebrate 60 years of marriage this week.

The couple wed Dec. 11, 1953 at the First Congregational Church in Sheridan.

Robert Stout worked a variety of jobs in his lifetime, including work as a rancher, hay contractor, school bus driver, home builder and cleaning local businesses.

Lyla Stout worked as a stay-at-home mom, seamstress, kindergarten teacher, school bus driver, hay swather, caregiver and cleaned local businesses.

The Stouts both retired in 2013.

They have three children: Dorcas (Bill) Palone of Gillette, Robin Stout of Sheridan and Jodene (Robert) Prusak of Ulm. The Stouts also have six grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
