SHERIDAN — It’s not too late to sign your son or daughter up for the Sheridan Recreation District/YMCA Citywide Youth Basketball Program.
The program is a non-competitive league that introduces the game to kids, while focusing on teaching them fundamentals and teamwork. Organizers said they hope to bring them back each year to continue growth and understanding of the sport.
The program is for both boys and girls in second through fifth grade and will begin the week of Oct. 27.
Registration for the league lasts until Oct. 25, and there are four ways to sign up:
• In person at the YMCA or the Sheridan Recreation Office (Thorne-Rider Park)
• Online at www.sheridanrecreation.com
• Call the Sheridan Recreation office at 674-6421
• Final signups will be at “first whistle” Oct. 25.
First Whistle will be at Sheridan College for boys and at the YMCA for girls. Second- and third-grade signups will run from 9-10 a.m. and fourth- and fifth-grade signups will go from 10-11 a.m.
The fee for the league is $25 and includes a T-shirt.
