SHERIDAN — Kyera Vasco of Buffalo, Brooke Sanburn of Buffalo and Kailey Koval of Sheridan all made the “Overall” podium in their respective age and level groupings at the Wyoming State Gymnastics Championship Competition held in Douglas on Saturday.

All three girls compete for the Summit Gymnastics Team in Buffalo under the tutelage of instructor Hal Halvorson.

Vasco was the gold medalist in the level 6 senior age division. Sanburn was the bronze medalist of Level 5 in the Junior Division. Koval, also a Level 5, was the bronze medalist in the Child Division. All three girls will advance to a higher USAG level immediately. Two other gymnasts from Summit Gymnastics, Grace Peterson and Isabella Camino, also had good showings in Level 4 of the Child and Junior Divisions as they both came in fifth place all around.

Halvorson is an internationally recognized gymnastics coach and attended the London Olympics as a floor official in 2012.

“We are so lucky to have such a world renowned coach, right here in Buffalo, Wyoming,” Koval remarked. “I owe my success to coach Hal’s patience, and the opportunity of having Coach’s Gym here due to Dave Harness’ patronage to our program. I can’t thank these men enough.”
