Dinosaur and mammal lecture

set for Wednesday


SHERIDAN — Sheridan College Museum of Discovery Science Lecture Series will present “New Research on the Age and Correlation of the Upper Jurassic Morrison Formation” Wednesday at 7 p.m.

The Upper Jurassic Morrison Formation is one of the most well-studied rock units in the world. It crops out across western North America and has yielded a great variety of dinosaurs and other fossils including early mammals.

University of Wyoming Geological Museum Manager Kelli Trujillo will talk about how dinosaurs and mammals of the Morrison Formation fit into their Jurassic world.

Trujillo is a paleontologist and geologist who earned her Bachelor of Arts from Western State College of Colorado and her Master of Science and doctorate from the University of Wyoming.

The lecture will be at the Sheridan College Mohns Center Science Museum and is free to the public.


Shopapalooza set for Thursday at brewery


SHERIDAN — The Black Tooth Brewing Company will host “Shopapalooza” Thursday to benefit the Advocacy and Resource Center.

The evening of shopping and food will be from 5:30-8 p.m. in the Timberline Room.

Browse the items for sale, such as new and gently-used shoes, purses and accessories, and place your bids.

Admission is $10 per person which includes food and nonalcoholic beverages.

Beer will be available for purchase.

To donate gently-used items, bring them to the Advocacy and Resource Center at 136 Coffeen Ave. or to Advanced Communications Technologies at 290 N. Brooks St. No clothing please.
