Fly-fishing film tour to benefit SCLT

SHERIDAN — The 2020 Fly Fishing Film Tour set for 6 p.m. Saturday will benefit the Sheridan Community Land Trust.

In addition to the films, raffles will include a Weatherby Elements shotgun and surprise items from Costa, Yeti, Simms and more. Raffle tickets will also be sold to win a week of guided fishing for two in the Bahamas. The winner will be chosen by Angling Destinations.

Proceeds from the event will benefit the SCLT.

Tickets cost $15 in advance or $20 at the door.

Doors open for the event at 5:30 p.m. and the show will start at 6 p.m.


Manufacturing Expo planned for Saturday

SHERIDAN — New West Manufacturing Partnership, an industry led cohort of manufacturing companies, will host an inaugural Manufacturing Expo on Saturday at the Sheridan College Whitney Academic Center atrium.

The event will provide an opportunity for manufacturers to showcase their innovative products and services, network and grow their business relationships while showing the community how manufacturing is a strong contributor to the local economy. This event is free and open to the public.

Attendees will have the chance to visit with the regional businesses, learn about exciting career opportunities and gain inspiration from local thought leaders in automation, quality and marketing.

The exhibition hall will open in the atrium at noon. From 12:30-3 p.m., speakers will offer presentations in various classrooms at the Whitney Academic Center. The expo will wrap up by 4 p.m.

Landon’s to offer houseplant workshop

SHERIDAN — Landon’s Greenhouse and Nursery will host a workshop on houseplant health Saturday at 1 p.m.

Attendees will learn to keep indoor plants healthy via repotting, dividing, watering, humidity and light.

The workshop is free and open to the public, though organizes ask those planning to attend to register by calling 307-672-8340.
