SHERIDAN — American Legion Auxiliary Wyoming Girls State applications are now being accepted.

All high school junior girls are eligible to apply, and applications are available through school counselors.

Home-schooled juniors are also encouraged to apply and may contact the Melba Bennett for an application.

Girls State is a simulated government program whose objective is to provide “hands on” training in city and state government. All delegates are eligible for scholarships and college credit.

Girls State will take place in Cheyenne June 7-13. The girls’ fees will be paid for by John Donald Garbutt Unit 7 of the American Legion Auxiliary in Sheridan.
