SHERIDAN — On Saturday at 10 a.m., the Civil Air Patrol’s presentation of the colors will open the Wreaths Across America Ceremony at the Sheridan Municipal Cemetery.
Open to the entire community, Dr. Nels Nelson will provide an invocation and Mayor Roger Miller will remind attendees of the three great themes of WAA – to remember our fallen soldiers, to honor our living military and their families and to teach the next generations the value and cost of freedom.
Melissa Lagorio, chairwoman of the event representing the Republican Women of Sheridan County, acknowledged with thanks the many volunteers who will lay the wreaths on the graves of veterans preceding the WAA ceremony.
All are encouraged to attend the ceremony. After the short service, attendees can meet and greet participants and share their stories as part of remembering, honoring and teaching others about defending the freedoms of our country. Sheridan Municipal Cemetery is located at 1000 Ash St.
