Hawks split games against Quake

SHERIDAN — The Sheridan NA3HL Hawks lost to the Yellowstone Quake 5-4 in overtime at home Friday. The Hawks traveled to Cody Saturday and defeated the Quake 5-3.

The Hawks are on the road Friday and Saturday, traveling to Great Falls, Montana, to play the Americans.

 

Generals win two on the road

SHERIDAN — The Sheridan College men’s basketball team defeated Game Gear 112-105 Friday. Brett Thompson led the Generals with 23 points.

SC defeated Bismarck State College 90-68 Saturday. Marcus Stephens led the team with 18 points.

The Generals will travel to Devils Lake, North Dakota, to face Lake Region State College 5 p.m. Saturday.

 

Locals compete in Cody bowling tournament

SHERIDAN — Dale Matthaes and Steve Kennedy competed in the Super Bowl in Cody, a tournament part of the Double Nickle Bowling Association.

Matthaes scored a 709 and Kennedy scored a 707, which was good enough for sixth and seventh place, respectively.

There was 38 bowlers competing in the competition. Those competing in the tournament from Sheridan were Ken Carcich and Will Powers.

The next Double Nick Bowling Association event will be Dec. 15 in Forsyth, Montana.
