SHERIDAN — C-SPAN will air a series of programs that explore the historical and cultural people, places and events that have shaped Sheridan’s development as part of the network’s Cities Tour program.
Producers from Cities Tour — a national program that has profiled more than 125 U.S. cities — filmed the programs during a visit to the city during this summer’s Sheridan WYO Rodeo Week.
The first segment aired Friday between 5 a.m. and 8 a.m. on C-SPAN’s “Washington Journal” program and featured Sheridan Mayor Roger Miller introducing the city to C-SPAN’s audience. Miller’s segment will be available online at www.cspan.org/citiestour.
Book TV — which will air on C-SPAN 2 (Spectrum channels 19 and 618 in Sheridan) at 10 a.m. Saturday — will feature a block of segments that explore the city’s non-fiction literary offerings through interviews with local authors and historians.
The final segment will air on C-SPAN’s American History TV program — which is scheduled to start at 12 p.m. on C-SPAN 3 (Spectrum channels 16 and 619 in Sheridan) Sunday — and feature community leaders and historians highlighting different aspects of Sheridan’s history.
All of the Sheridan segments will be available at www.cspan.org/series/citiestour after they air.
