SHERIDAN — The fall sports season is fast approaching for Sheridan High School, and any player wishing to participate will need a current physical before they are allowed to participate.

The physical needs to be completed after May 1 of this year, SHS Activities Director Don Julian said in a press release.

Starting Aug. 12 is football, golf, tennis and cheer. Football will practice Monday through Friday next week with all grades practicing 7 a.m. and 10th-12th graders having a second practice at 4:30 p.m. Golf will practice Monday and Tuesday next week at Kendrick Golf Course at 2 p.m. Tennis will have practice at 8 a.m. and 4 p.m. Cheer is scheduled to practice at 7 a.m. and 5 p.m.

The rest of the fall sports — cross-country, girls swimming and diving and volleyball — start practices Aug. 19. Cross-country will practice at 6:30 a.m. and 6 p.m. Girls swimming and diving will start at 6 p.m. and volleyball will have practices at 6 a.m. and 4 p.m.

Also on Aug. 19 is the SHS booster club fall barbecue at SHS followed by the parent meeting. The event will start at 7 p.m.
