• Join Emmy Hill from the Sheridan Dog and Cat Shelter out on the lawn to see some of the dogs that are available for adoption for the Dog Days of Summer event 10 a.m. Aug. 2.

• Come grab some free watermelon — until it runs out — to celebrate National Watermelon Day Aug. 5 at 11 a.m. on the west lawn.

• Encourage and inspire others as you join Emily Gardner, painting rocks to take home or leave around town Aug. 6 from 1-3 p.m. Bring your own rock or use ours. All supplies are provided and no sign-ups are needed.

• Take a trip way back in time to Medicine Lodge, located in the foothills on the west side of the Bighorn Mountains, Aug. 13 from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. for a fee of $41. Medicine Lodge State Archaeological Site is a Wyoming State Park that interprets the Medicine Lodge Creek site, a prehistoric Native American archaeological site near Hyattville. A picnic lunch will be provided. Sign up and pre-pay fo this moderately difficult activity at the front desk by Aug. 6. The minimum capacity for this trip is 12, and the maximum is 24.
