SHERIDAN — The Sheridan Troopers wrapped up play at the Hladky Memorial Tournament over the weekend. The Troopers downed Mitchell, South Dakota, 9-1 Friday night and fell to Gillette 6-5 Saturday afternoon.

Quinn McCafferty pitched a complete game against Mitchell. He surrendered one earned run on four hits with six strikeouts and one walk.

Justice Rees led the charge at the dish, as he was only a home run away from the cycle. He collected three hits and four RBIs, while McCafferty logged a hit and a pair of RBIs.

Jacob Boint received the nod to start against Gillette and he lasted 5 1/3 innings, giving up four earned runs on eight hits with five punch outs and two walks.

Boint helped out his own cause, as he plated two runs.

Sheridan — which owns a 15-16 overall record — remains on the road, traveling to Cody for a doubleheader Tuesday.
