Tongue River girls golf ends spring season victorious
SHERIDAN — The Tongue River High School girls golf team took first place at the 2A golf spring championships over the weekend hosted by TR at Hidden Bridge Golf Course and Kendrick Municipal Golf Course.
The Lady Eagles posted a two-day team total of 620 strokes, comfortably ahead of second-place Kemmerer, which had 634. Tongue River’s Sadie Koltiska won as an individual after firing rounds of 88 Friday and Saturday for a total of 176. TR’s Mackenzie Aksamit placed 10th overall with a two-day score of 217.
TR boys take fifth
The Tongue River boys team finished fifth place with a total of 792 shots. Kemmerer won the competition with a score of 754. Nick Summers placed second overall with a two-day score of 152, including a round of 70 on Saturday.
The Big Horn boys team did not have enough golfers to qualify for a team score, but Hayden Tellez placed sixth overall with a total of 183. The teams will resume competition during the fall season.
