SHERIDAN — The Northern Wyoming Community College District Board of Trustees finalized a contract with the college district’s new president during its regular meeting Thursday night.
The board approved Walter Tribley for a three-year term beginning July 1, 2019, at an annual salary of $220,000.
Tribley currently serves as superintendent and president of the Monterey Peninsula Community College District in California.
The board approved a new certificate in arts administration. The certificate would require 16 credit hours and will likely begin in fall 2019 pending approval from a few state higher education entities.
According to its student success report, the college district had 806 students with total completion degrees in 2017-18. That number is up from 795 in 2016-17 and 695 in 2013-14. The NWCCD has a goal of 1,000 students reaching completion degrees by 2020.
The board approved nine faculty members for tenure. It also approved First Interstate Bank and First Federal Bank as depositories of public funds.
The next regular board meeting is scheduled for April 18.
