SAGE to offer watercolor class with Tracy Boyle

SHERIDAN — SAGE Community Arts will offer a four-week watercolors class with Tracy Boyle beginning Feb. 19.

The class is designed for all experience levels and will help participants hone their ability to see objects truthfully and transfer individual perceptions onto paper. Boyle said the environment will be relaxed with an emphasis on numerous practice attempts to help foster confidence.

The cost is $60 for members, $75 for nonmembers and $40 for students.

The Fireants to perform in Story

STORY — The Fireants will perform at a Valentine’s Day event beginning at 8 p.m. Saturday at the Story Woman’s Club.

The cost is a $10 donation at the door, with children aged 12 and younger getting in for free.

The event will include drinks, and attendees are asked to bring sweets or snacks.

The Story Woman’s Club is located at 28 N. Piney Road in Story.

 

Valentine pageant planned for Saturday

SHERIDAN — The Hearts and Crowns Valentine Pageant will take place Saturday from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Sheridan Holiday Inn Convention Center.

Girls up to 18 years old are encouraged to join for the day of competition and prizes.

The cost for each contestant to participate is $75, with a $10 discount for an additional sibling and $20 off for a third sibling.

There are eight age groups in which children may compete.

Registration will begin at 8 a.m. with optional talent contests beginning at 9 a.m.

Nordic club organizes moonlight ski

SHERIDAN — The Black Mountain Nordic Club will host an evening of moonlight skiing from 6-9 p.m. Saturday at the Sibley Lake trails.

The organization will have music, hot chocolate, hot dog buns and fixings. Participants need only bring their hot dogs and a potluck treat to share.

Those planning to attend should come prepared with warm clothing, a headlamp, glow sticks and reflective fun. Parking will be limited, so attendees are encouraged to carpool.  For more information, contact the club at blkmtnnordic@gmail.com.

The Sibley Lake trails are located off U.S. Highway 14 in the Bighorn Mountains.

 

Lunch Together Soup Kitchen celebrates 25 years

SHERIDAN — Lunch Together Soup Kitchen will mark its 25th anniversary Saturday at First Congregational Church.

A brief program will begin at 11:30 a.m. in the sanctuary of the church and will be followed by cake and ice cream downstairs. For 25 years, eight churches and many service organizations worked together to provide a free lunch to anyone who wants to eat with friends, Monday through Friday.
