SHERIDAN — The Central Wyoming Council and Boy Scouts of America recently awarded Riis Card of Troop 117 in Sheridan the rank of Eagle Scout.

Card received this award at a Court of Honor held Jan. 30 at First Congregational Church.

Eagle Scout is the highest award earned by young men in the Boy Scouts.

Card’s Eagle Scout project was done with the American Legion and Home Depot and involved building a flag depository. Several Boy Scouts worked together to create a wooden safe-box for American flags that need to be retired. It is currently located at Home Depot and is periodically emptied by Home Depot staff as well as Troop 117.

Card is a senior at Sheridan High School and he participates in orchestra, Model United Nations, student council, taekwondo and he founded the Sheridan High School Math Club. Card is the son of Marilyn and Mike Card of Sheridan.
